Acupuncture is an ancient practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine that helps promote natural healing. We have meridians (channels) that run throughout our body and contain specific acupuncture points. Traditional Chinese medicine states that if a patient experiences any symptoms, it means there are blockages in the flow of energy along these meridians.
Acupuncture uses sterile needles (very thin) to puncture specific acupuncture points to help balance a person’s energy. This triggers the body’s natural healing capabilities and helps restore balance to both the mind and body.
An Acupuncturist uses a very thin needle as thin as a hair. The patient may feel a small pinch for a millisecond when the needle penetrates through the skin. Most patients do not feel pain.
Acupuncture is very effective in treating acute to chronic pain. Acupuncture does not mask pain like a painkiller, but it helps the body to heal pain from the root cause.
For many years, research has shown that acupuncture helps promote blood flow to the ovaries and uterus. It also encourages follicle growth and helps develop the uterine lining.

Many insurance companies cover acupuncture that is provided by a registered acupuncturist. To find out more about your plan and any limitations or restrictions on your acupuncture coverage, we always advise contacting your insurance company.
Both clinics I work in, Mississauga and Brampton, offer direct billing service.
